A critical goal for the National Science Foundation is to “develop a robust research community that can conduct rigorous research and evaluation that will support excellence in STEM education and that integrates research and education”. The International Space Station (ISS) is a perfect laboratory for such integration on a variety of potential DRK-12, AISL, ITEST, Cyberlearning projects and other solicitations.

The 2026 Idea Machine Challenge for future basic science research funding has been launched. The winners will help set the U.S. agenda for fundamental research in science and engineering, earn cash prizes and receive public recognition.

EvaluATE is hosting a webinar on August 22 at 1PM ET on the essential elements of an effective evaluation plan. EvaluATE is the evaluation resource center for the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program, so the webinar will focus on proposals for the ATE program, but there should be helpful tips for DRK-12 proposal writers.
