9. Member Code of Conduct
CADRE is a website for Members to communicate, share ideas, and collaborate with other Members. CADRE believes in the free exchange of ideas and information in a supportive scholarly and professional atmosphere. This Code of Conduct provides guidelines for constructive, respectful and productive dialogue for CADRE Members.
CADRE Members should use the following guidelines for community interactions:
A. Protect Yourself and Your Ideas
While CADRE aims to be a safe place for you to share information and ideas, Administrators cannot guarantee that other Members will not use the information and ideas that you decide to share. When choosing to share content in developmental stages with other Members, exercise discretion and good judgment. Identify information in draft form.
B. Respect Other Members
While CADRE is meant to be conducive towards open dialogue, Administrators recognize that not all dialogue is comfortable for everyone. Administrators cannot guarantee that Members will operate in a civil way in discussions with other Members. Be respectful towards one another and notify Administrators if discussions diverge from the polite.
C. Be Accurate and Constructive
CADRE is a website for the discussion of issues, projects, and ideas in a rapidly changing field. There are many divergent viewpoints and professional practices that have a tendency to collide. Be thoughtful, accurate, constructive, and respectful in your comments about other Members posts and projects.
D. Be Safe
Although this is a professional and scholarly community you should not exchange personal information unless you are well acquainted with other Members. Exercise caution and restraint in the disclosure of personal information.
E. Be Open to the Exchange
CADRE is above all a community for the exchange of ideas and information in the informal science and learning field. It provides opportunities to meet and collaborate with other scholars and digital media professionals. Use these opportunities to extend the community knowledge base and enhance a field that is in constant formation.
You are solely responsible for the quality of your interactions with other CADRE Members. CADRE reserves the right but is under no obligation to monitor disputes between you and other Members.
