Dear Colleagues,
CADRE is excited to plan and offer new supports for DRK-12 awardees. Please take our survey on your professional interests and needs, if you haven't already. It should take you less than 10 minutes to complete and will help us design and offer valuable opportunities for you and the DRK-12 community.
This newsletter includes a Spotlight on DRK-12-led conferences and workshops, as well as modeling and dissemination resources and ideas shared at the 2021 DRK-12 PI Meeting. We encourage registrants to return to the meeting site to view other resources and session recordings.
Did you know that November includes Book Lovers Day and Young Readers Day? This made us wonder how students with visual impairments may be supported to read in a STEM class. The project Bridging the Digital Accessibility Gap in STEM Using Multisensory Haptic Platforms is studying this.
We’ve received applications for the CADRE Fellows program and will announce the new cohort in December! Meanwhile, we’re looking forward to engaging the Fellows in discussion with the DRK-12 community about STEM education research and the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
We are planning an upcoming Spotlight on motivation and engagement in mathematics. If you would like your project featured in this Spotlight, please let us know at cadre@edc.org.
Best,

Modeling in STEM at the DRK-12 PI Meeting
As we continue to build on the conversations and themes from the 2021 DRK-12 PI Meeting, we’d like to share some of the ideas and resources that were discussed by presenters and attendees. This month, we’re featuring materials and discussions on modeling in STEM education. Thanks to all who planned, presented, and participated for their contributions.
Project Tip: DisseminationAt the 2021 DRK-12 PI Meeting, facilitators and participants offered ideas and insights about supporting project dissemination. Here are slides and a few comments from the session:
