Our knowledge-based economy is driven by constant innovation. The foundation of innovation lies in a dynamic, motivated and well-educated workforce equipped with STEM skills. However, the nature of our workforce and the needs of our industries have changed over time. Today, an understanding of scientific and mathematical principles, a working knowledge of computer hardware and software, and the problem solving skills developed by courses in STEM are necessary for most jobs. Therefore, STEM education is an enormous and pressing need.

Business Higher Education Forum – STEM Research and Modeling Network (BHEF)

The STEM Research and Modeling Network (SRMN) is an open innovation network hosted by the Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF) and dedicated to advancing the development and use of the U.S. STEM Education Model, a system dynamics model developed by the Raytheon Company, and similar complementary tools. Raytheon has gifted the model to BHEF, which is making the model available in open source to the public to help increase the number of students who pursue majors and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – the disciplines collectively known as STEM. 

National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) – NCTM affiliate

The National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) is a mathematics leadership organization for educational leaders that provides professional learning opportunities necessary to support and sustain improved student achievement.

NCSM envisions a professional and diverse learning community of educational leaders that ensures every student in every classroom has access to effective mathematics teachers, relevant curricula, culturally responsive pedagogy, and current technology.
