Project Tip: Build a Shared Research and Practice Framework Early

One of the biggest challenges for K–12 STEM education research teams is aligning the goals and timelines of researchers, teachers, and school partners. One strategy is to co-create a Shared Research & Practice Framework at the beginning of a project to define:

  • Shared goals and definitions
  • Theory of change or logic model
  • Partner roles
  • Contextual considerations
  • Communication and check-in plan

Developing this document together sets a collaborative tone and establishes shared accountability. It also makes it easier to communicate your project’s purpose and coherence to new team members, partners, or funders. Use this template as a starting point in creating your own Shared Research & Practice Framework.
