Oh no, I was declined! What do I do now? Responding to declinationEvent Date: toHave you had an EDU Core Research (ECR) proposal declined? Join the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) for tips and techniques for improving and resubmitting a previously declined ECR proposal. NSF program officers will share information about (a) NSF funding rates, (b) common reasons for declinations, (c) how to separate useful reviewer feedback from idiosyncratic feedback, and (d) how to prepare your proposal for resubmission. Facilitators will also share tips for dealing with the painful initial sting of declination, soliciting input from the cognizant program officer, and serving on NSF review panels to learn more about NSF’s merit review processes. Who should attend? STEM education researchers interested in the ECR:Core solicitation, especially those who plan to resubmit a previously declined proposal. Presenters:

The EDU Racial Equity program team is offering two live webinars that highlight the Racial Equity in STEM Education solicitation (NSF 22-634) as well as other proposal preparation aspects submitters will find helpful. Each live webinar includes a presentation plus Q&A. The presentation components of the webinars will be recorded and posted here. The EDU Racial Equity program team is also offering a number of Office Hours to answer questions from potential PIs and team members. These will not be recorded. Please note: These webinars and resources do not replace the need for all submitters to read the Racial Equity in STEM Education solicitation (NSF 22-634) and the NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG). To request reasonable accommodation (preferably two weeks in advance) or if you have registration issues, please email us at EDURacialEquity@nsf.gov .
