REVISE Webinar

3pm - 4pm EST - Presentation | 4pm - 4:30pm EST - Coffee hour (optional)

A qualitative meta-synthesis looks across findings from qualitative research literature to answer a synthesis question and construct greater meaning for a topic. This webinar is focused on introducing the informal STEM education (ISE) field to qualitative meta-synthesis and its purposes, practicality, and importance. It is presented by the Institute for Meta-Synthesis (IMS) team as part of their Promoting Investigators’ Capacity in STEM Education Literature Synthesis (PICSELS) project (NSF Grant No. 2422287). Attendees will learn the similarities and differences among meta-synthesis and other designs, such as systematic review and meta-analysis. Attendees will also learn the basic steps to a meta-synthesis methodological approach, using project examples from the ISE field.

After the presentation, there will be an optional coffee hour. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about synthesis work.
