Designing Accessible Online Learning: What an Instructor Needs to Know

What does it mean for a course to be “accessible”? What can be learned from legal challenges regarding e-learning accessibility? What are relevant laws? What are some strategies for making online courses compliant with legal mandates, specifically — and more generally, welcoming to, accessible to, and usable by all students, including those with disabilities, who wish to engage in online learning offerings? In this presentation, Sheryl Burgstahler will answer these questions, focusing on how increasing faculty knowledge can reduce the need for accommodations to be provided to individual students with disabilities.

NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) Update Webinars

The National Science Foundation (NSF) will offer two NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) Update Webinars broadcast live to the research community on Monday, November 7, 2016 and Thursday, January 19, 2017. There is no cost to participate.

The webinars will provide an overview of significant changes and clarifications to the PAPPG that will take effect on January 30, 2017. The PAPPG details NSF's proposal preparation and submission guidelines, and provides guidance on managing and monitoring the award and administration of grants and cooperative agreements made by the Foundation.
