NCES releases Projections of Education Statistics to 2020 |

Postsecondary enrollment rose by 43 percent between 1995 and 2009, and is projected to increase another 13 percent by 2020. The Projections of Education Statistics to 2020 provides national-level data on enrollment, teachers, high school graduates, and expenditures at the elementary and secondary school level and enrollment and earned degrees at the postsecondary level for the past 14 years and projections to the year 2020. This is the 39th edition of a publication first initiated in 1964. Other findings include: * Reflecting actual and projected changes in the high school-age population, the number of high school graduates increased by 32 percent between 1995-96 and 2007-08, and a decrease of 3 percent is projected by 2020-21. * After adjusting for inflation, current expenditure per pupil increased by 32 percent between 1995-96 and 2007-08, and a further increase of 14 percent is projected by 2020-21.
