This project aims to (1) investigate whether or not it is possible to successfully scale-up and adapt the Capacity Building Systems Model used in the Gadsden Mathematics Initiative and improve mathematics achievement for all students in a larger school district, and (2) replicate success in broadening the participation of underrepresented groups in entering STEM field by closing the achievement gap and raising the achievement level of underrepresented students in mathematics.

About Me (Bio):
For SUMA I have been serving as a Teacher Researcher. I have spent hundreds of hours observing teaching & learning and gathering data in K-8 classrooms. I also serve as a bridge between the district and the university.I have also helped in disseminating the data and writing on various articles and tools that we have used in our research. I have been in education for 16 years. I am working as a Teacher Researcher for SUMA, and as Field Specialist for LIFT. In both grants I am the practitioner in the group.
