IES Releases FY14 SBIR Solicitations

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program at the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) provides awards to small business firms and partners for the research and development of commercially viable education technology products.

The IES SBIR Fiscal Year 2014 Program Solicitations are NOW OPEN

• Fiscal Year 2014 "Phase I" Competition: Under solicitation #ED-IES-14-R-0009, IES requests proposals to develop prototypes of education technology products. These products must be designed to improve relevant student or teacher outcomes in education and special education settings. Awards will be up to $150,000 for 6 months. • Fiscal Year 2014 "Fast-Track" Competition: Under solicitation #ED-IES-14-R-0003, IES requests proposals to develop and evaluate education technology products. These products must be designed to improve relevant student or teacher outcomes in education and special education settings. Offerors may request up to $1,050,000 to support 30 months of research and development. To access the Fast-Track solicitation on the FBO.gov website, click here. Note: Applicants (offerors) who intend to submit a Fast-Track proposal must submit two proposals: 1) a full Phase I proposal and 2) a Fast-Track proposal. IES will not review Fast-Track proposals from applicants who do not meet this requirement.
