Spring Saturday Drive-In Conference for Middle Grade Math and Science Teachers

The 2011 Spring Drive-In Conference for Middle Grade Math and Science teachers will take place at North Carolina A&T State University on February 19. A series of activities will be provided by University faculty mentors focusing on math and science content. Activities include conversations on math and science concepts that middle grade teachers find difficult, and sharing of strategies to bring that content to students.  Other activities include chemistry demonstrations, weather and atmosphere changes and practical applications of energy transfer.  Math teachers will also receive practical applications in math through the New York Stock Exchange trading room at the School of Business at North Carolina A&T.

Over four hundred middle grade students engaged in math and science activities directed by University math and science faculty. The focus was on applying math and science concepts in the real world. These activities were held at the North Carolina A&T laboratories and research centers.
